FEATURED EXECUTIVE - Barrie Bergman

Every business has its own brand of problems, but there are some basic rules that don’t change – rules that determine success in the long run.

Barrie Bergman grew The Record Bar, from a single music store in Durham, North Carolina to a national chain of 180 stores in 30 states.

Shortly after selling The Record Bar, he and a partner purchased bankrupt Bare Escentuals and grew it to an enterprise that was recapitalized in 2004 for over $200 million.

He accomplished both extraordinary successes by taking the ethical high road, facing tough decisions with, “So we’ll get rich a few days later.”

Barrie’s experience in growing ethical companies is chronicled in his book, Nice Guys Finish First, an informative, fun and provocative behind-the-scenes look at a commonsense road map to success in business and life.

Barrie Bergman has the expertise to ask the right questions in tough situations, and to share what has worked and what has not worked in growing a business. Barrie can guide you to get results while treating people with respect and appreciation.

Barrie Bergman currently resides in Santa Barbara, CA.

WHAT TO EXPECT

An entrepreneur faces difficult decisions daily.  Ethical questions.  Personality challenges.  Be truthful when it hurts most.  Be gentle and respectful when it’s most challenging.  To act now or to wait and give things time.  To take the high road or cut a corner or two.  To fire or not to fire.  Mr. Bergman offers unique perspectives and experiences to these challenges.  His experience and success proves “Nice Guys” can “Finish First”.  The Santa Barbara community demands you take care of your people.  Keep your bridges standing.  Come learn tangibles to further ground yourself in ethics.  And enjoy some fun Rock ‘n Roll stories in the process.  Rock on.
