FEATURED EXECUTIVE - Jim Eiting

Jim Eiting serves Midmark Corporation as Chair Emeritus. Midmark provides innovative products and services for healthcare professionals within the medical, dental and veterinary markets around the world. The company was founded in 1915 as The Cummings Machine Company, and is headquartered in Versailles, Ohio.

Eiting joined Midmark in 1956 and served as secretary to the board in 1960. He was promoted to general manager of Midmark in 1967 and president in 1969 when his father, Carl Eiting, retired after 43 years. As former president and CEO, he was the third generation of the Eiting family to hold a leadership position.

During his tenure as president, Midmark (then IE Industries) reached a crucial turning point when Eiting took the reins and led the company into the medical equipment market, producing power exam tables and selling them one at a time. Midmark now holds the leading market share position in medical exam and procedures’ tables as well as other key market share positions in the dental and veterinary industries.

Eiting has served on over ten corporate boards and participated as a member of the World Presidents’ Organization. A University of Dayton alumnus, he has participated as a keynote speaker at many U.D. entrepreneurial and business development sessions for several years. He is also a member of the Crotty Advisory Council of the School of Business Administration.

His recently published book, Focus for Success, was designed to serve as a resource for entrepreneurs and business professionals, yet includes personal life lessons that can be enjoyed by all types of people. The 127-page book begins with a short history of the Eiting family dating back to the early 1700s, then focuses on business topics and leadership, touching on philosophical thinking, family and friends, happiness, wisdom and the rewards of giving.

Mr. Eiting and his wife, Esther, share four children and six grandchildren.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Mr. Eiting brings a half-century of business and leadership experience to the table.  He has forty years of teaching and mentoring skill.  He turned an engineering company with a meager $500,000 in sales in 1956 into a recession-resistant medical equipment company that is now valued at over $300 million.  If you want insights into how to build a company during a recession, find a niche, join forces with other companies, inspire your workforce, solicit a germane board of directors or just appreciate hearing stories of overcoming realistic failures to succeed, Mr. Eiting is a man around which to gather and learn.  “Wise words and insightful adages culled from 50 years of being focused on success.  Jim’s direct talk about business will inspire senior managers, entrepreneurs, and students alike.” – Dr. David Newton, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Chairman, Westmont College.  Moreover, Mr. Eiting will gift his book to all attendees.  The book is a must have for entrepreneurs and business people.  Come join us.  Be inspired.  Gain insight.  Gain focus.

Be one of the ten. RSVP NOW.
